Talk about GROUND RUSH! I can’t believe someone can hit the ground this hard and survive. My friend Liam Dunne of Deepseed is one lucky man. There are several factors that lead to this outcome, but the end result was a CYPRES save, intense ground rush, an 8 inch footprint in the ground, and surgery with 2 titanium rods and 4 screws holding his spine together. Friday Freakout: Parachute Sucked Into Wingsuit Burble

A wingsuit, a burble and a slider-down opening with line dump at full speed. All rolled into one. That is all. No cutaway, but it sure looks like one helluva ride! For anyone interested in the details: he was flying a Tony Suit X-Bird, PD Spectre 97, 11.5 foot bridle, and a 30 inch PC. Any advice on how to avoid this next time?

Imagine jumping out of a pickup truck on the freeway, skidding to a slow grind, just before the rope tethering you to it snaps tight and jolts you to a halt. That’s pretty much what this trooper was feeling as he got hung up on his static line. With lines wrapped around his gear and reserve, there’s no quick fix. The solution? Clipping on another parachute… and that gets a thumbs up. Well done sir, well done.

Every time I see a BASE jump, I’m always thinking, “You know what this needs… more gymnastics. Particularly, the high bar!” It turns out Norwegian BASE jumper Richard Henriksen had the same thought and did just that. Unfortunately for him, the stunt goes horribly wrong and the high bar structure collapses at the edge of the cliff. Not only does Richard survive, but luckily he avoids being struck by the rod and chains that fall along with him. What do you think: cool concept or bad idea to begin with?

Friday Freakout: Skydive Instructor Hangs From Plane By Seatbelt

Seatbelts are a great idea when you’re taking off in a plane. Not so much when you’re exiting a plane. This skydive instructor forgets to unbuckle his seatbelt before exit, and ends up hanging from the plane as his student exits alone on his first (unplanned) solo jump. We all make mistakes, and the key is to learn from them. I’m sure he’ll be dreaming about seatbelts for weeks to come and won’t forget to unbuckle anymore.

We all know GoPro Hero cameras are bomb-proof. Just ask the dude who had a scary head-down premature opening and lost his GoPro from from 10,000ft. But this video takes 1st place in the OMGWTFLMAO department. Not only does his GoPro survive a 12,500ft freefall WITHOUT the case, but it lands on the DZ and films everyone landing. Lol.
