Here’s a lesson from Bridge Day (1992) on how NOT to jump off a bridge! Tossing the pilot chute between his legs probably wasn’t the smoothest move he’s pulled off to date. Not to mention cutting away from an 880-foot BASE jump. Then again, what do I know… he saved his own life. What’d you think?

Wheelchair BASE Jump at Bridge Day

After getting a taste of his first wheelchair BASE jump at Bride Day last year, Lonnie Bissonnette of Team FX was psyched to try again at Bridge Day 2011. Unfortunately, due to public safety concerns from the local authorities, he wasn’t allowed to jump with his wheelchair (what changed since last year, Sheriff??). Oh well. Looks like Lonnie will have to stick to hitching a ride off cliffs in Norway.

Red Bull Air Force at Bridge Day 2011

What do you get when you put 180,000 spectators and 400 BASE jumpers on a massive bridge? Bridge Day 2011, and what would Bridge Day be without Othar, Charles, JT and Santa of the Red Bull Air Force entertaining the masses. Also, TandemBASE was available for the first time at Bridge Day 2011 in its 32-year history, which was a big crowd pleaser.
