FlajFlaj: The Epicenter of Awesome

FlajFlaj (pronounced Fly-Fly) is pretty much the epicenter of awesome freefly learning at Skydive Elsinore. The group, led by Peter Nilsson, invades Lake Elsinore, CA every year and dominates the skies, five days a week, for two weeks. They started with 13 people in 2007, and at last report, had 111 participants and 24 coaches in 2013. Here is the edit of week two by the lovely Lika Borzova. If there’s ever a time you’d soil your pants from a scary parachute malfunction, I’d say this is it — when your closing pin pops on exit, you have a horseshoe malfunction, and then get entangled in said horseshoe. Holy shit! Luckily Matt Englehart landed safely after clearing through the lines and chopping that mess. And, thanks to Brandon Lecocq sharing his video with us, we can all learn from this. Great turnout for the ISM 2010-2011 Swoop Competition at Skydive Elsinore. I have swooped this pond MANY times myself, and so to see these guys hitting it with the downwind push… yeah, NOT easy to shut it down and stand up in those accuracy zones (and most don’t)! Distance, now that’s another story… love the downwind! The one big crash is saved ’til the end of the video, so stick it out. Nice work, guys, and all you swoopers, be careful out there!!!

Big Way Traffic: 200-Way Exit

A little traffic is expected on big ways, especially when 200 skydivers exiting 9 aircraft attempt to set a new California state formation skydiving record at Skydive Perris. World Record 113-Way at Skydive Perris
