Voss Ventus: Vonderful Vindtunnel Video

Voss Ventus competed and won “The Battle of Bottrop 2012,” which was the first tunnel competition of its kind to focus on the new concept of Dynamic Freefly 4-way. A few days prior to the competition, the team got together at Voss Vind — the vvvind tunnel in Voss, Norway — to work on their routine. Andreas Johannessen was asked to document their sessions, and here is the end result. Congrats on the win and the inspiring video!

Battle of Bottrop – Dynamic Freefly Competition

The Battle of Bottrop was the first tunnel competition of its kind to focus on Dynamic Freefly 4-way — a new concept developed by the Skywalkers and hosted by Indoor Skydiving Bottrop. Kids Kicking Ass At World Indoor Skydiving Championships

What the… whaaat??! I don’t know about you, but when I was 10 years old I was still shitting my pants, watching Scooby Doo, and rockin’ a Kool-Aid mustache. Meanwhile, Kyra Poh and Choo Yixuan of Team Firefly, aged 10 and 11 respectively, kicked some ass at the World Indoor Skydiving Championships where they competed head to head with some of the best skydivers.

Worldwide Wingsuit + Naked Tracking Competition

Sweet footage from the 5th International Wingsuit Competition — the largest wingsuit and tracking competition in the world. Oh, did I mention there’s also a naked tracking category for all you nudists out there. You know who you are! How about a shameless plug for the Elsinore Bad Wings who make a cameo doing gainers, in wingsuits, out of a helicopter. Which, by the way, is the only aircraft they have there. The Nordic Meet 2012: Dynamic Freefly

TNM 2012 focused on the new “Dynamic Freefly 4-Way” wind tunnel competition concept, with the intention of setting up comps around the world and the ultimate goal being a World Cup tour. Great turnout for the ISM 2010-2011 Swoop Competition at Skydive Elsinore. I have swooped this pond MANY times myself, and so to see these guys hitting it with the downwind push… yeah, NOT easy to shut it down and stand up in those accuracy zones (and most don’t)! Distance, now that’s another story… love the downwind! The one big crash is saved ’til the end of the video, so stick it out. Nice work, guys, and all you swoopers, be careful out there!!!
