Friday Freakout: Chest Strap Undone, AAD Fire At 600 ft.!

This is an intense 2 minutes of footage! After realizing his chest strap was undone in freefall, this skydiver sacrifices altitude and his life while trying to fix the problem. Luckily his AAD works as advertised, but something tells me this would’ve been fatal if he wasn’t on his back for deployment. I’m sure this is a mistake he’ll NEVER make again, and hopefully this reminds us all to check our gear and the people around us.

Talk about GROUND RUSH! I can’t believe someone can hit the ground this hard and survive. My friend Liam Dunne of Deepseed is one lucky man. There are several factors that lead to this outcome, but the end result was a CYPRES save, intense ground rush, an 8 inch footprint in the ground, and surgery with 2 titanium rods and 4 screws holding his spine together. Friday Freakout: Pilot Chute in Tow + Cypres Save

The Wingsuit Drummer has his first parachute malfunction, and a good one at that — a pilot chute in tow — which resulted in a delayed reaction, a Cypres save, and an open reserve by 500 feet! Next time, maybe don’t wait so long to fire your reserve. Just my two cents.

Friday Freakout: Student Cypres Save WITH Instructor… WTF?!!

Aside from this kid looking all sorts of awkward in freefall, this instructor should be fired. There’s no excuse for both a student and an instructor losing altitude awareness. The last alti check seems to be at 0:37 by the student and at, umm, never by the instructor before the student pulls his main and his AAD fires. Anyone who disagrees, I’d like to hear your opinion… but this is f*#%ed up!
