Friday Freakout: Skydiver Hits Truck, Loses Arm (GRAPHIC)

In the words of Tommy Ferguson, “Awww, crap! That sucks.” I’m not sure WTF this truck/trailer was doing parked on the landing area, but target fixation got the best of Tommy on a downwind landing and he managed to hit the one object in an open desert that could — and did — mess him up really badly. You have to watch out for those trailers… they’ll come out of nowhere! All jokes aside, every skydiver makes mistakes. But unfortunately for Tommy, he wasn’t able to escape this mistake without a life-changing injury; his arm was amputated between the shoulder and elbow due to nerve damage.

Skydive Over Burning Man 2007

This is an awesome view from a skydive over the 45,000+ people who attended the Burning Man “festival” in 2007. Burning Man is a week-long annual event hosted in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. If you’ve never been, it’s something you MUST experience; trying to explain Burning Man to someone who has never been to the event is kind of like trying to explain the feeling of freefall to a wuffo.
