Talk about GROUND RUSH! I can’t believe someone can hit the ground this hard and survive. My friend Liam Dunne of Deepseed is one lucky man. There are several factors that lead to this outcome, but the end result was a CYPRES save, intense ground rush, an 8 inch footprint in the ground, and surgery with 2 titanium rods and 4 screws holding his spine together. Here’s what he has to say about his BASE jump from this exit point off Jungfrau in Switzerland: “In your face for the beginning then you fly away from the ground as it drops past the chalet before the trees. Quite visually stimulating.” Yeah Miles, “visually stimulating,” to say the least.

This is ninety seconds of dumb and dumber. At least he realized how dumb this was and hopefully learned from it. In other news, I’ve heard AADs save lives, and rumor has it that flaring helps for soft landings. I still think this insane dirty low pull is the lowest I’ve ever seen — it’s just 8 seconds of pure crazy!

Distracted BASE Jumper Pulls Low

This jump might not outdo this other crazy low pull, but it’s still too close for comfort. According to this BASE jumper, he unintentionally pulled low because he got distracted by his own shadow on the ground. As a result, he panicked when reaching for his pilot chute once he realized he was too low. Lesson learned: when you see your own shadow, it’s time to pull! Pay attention and be safe. How low would you say he was once his canopy was fully open?

Crazy Low Pull on Balloon Jump

Now THIS is ground rush! Watch this nutter with a BASE rig jump from a balloon and pull very, very low. He’s wearing a BASE rig, but jumping from a balloon… so let the debate begin: is this considered a skydive or BASE jump?
