Talk about GROUND RUSH! I can’t believe someone can hit the ground this hard and survive. My friend Liam Dunne of Deepseed is one lucky man. There are several factors that lead to this outcome, but the end result was a CYPRES save, intense ground rush, an 8 inch footprint in the ground, and surgery with 2 titanium rods and 4 screws holding his spine together. Friday Freakout: Line Twists, With A Pinch Of Ground Rush

Thermals are a paraglider’s wet dream. That is until your paraglider goes boom! Then that wet dream turns into wet underwear faster than you can say “oh shiiiii…” As the ground rush intensifies, the video cuts out — he didn’t think his GoPro was on, so he thought he was turning it on to film the impact but ended up turning it off instead. Double fail.

We’ve all the seen edited footage of Jeb Corliss’ wingsuit crash on Table Mountain. But here’s raw, unedited footage most of you haven’t seen. The Miracle Man Corliss has recovered from this near-death experience, and still has 8 lives left — give or take a few. Just the thought of hitting a mountain in a wingsuit at 120 MPH makes me cringe. Imagine how he felt. Glad you’re still with us Jeb.

Friday Freakout: BASE Jumper Survives 400 ft. Impact, Like Wile E. Coyote

This video seems out of a Chuck Jones cartoon of the Roadrunner and the Coyote, but it’s real. It happened in Konakova, Russia. A BASE jumper jumps off the top of a 400-foot (120 meter) electric tower, but his parachute fails. Miraculously, he survived the fall thanks to the powdered snow below. He broke his legs, pelvis, and some vertebrae. Fortunately, he was walking again only three months later, proving once again that Russians are made of iron.

Some of you might find this a bit disturbing to watch, but luckily this BASE jumper survives after hitting the water from a dirty low pull. If this was a low pull contest, I’m pretty sure he won. Don’t forget to pull, people. It’ll save your life.

Friday Freakout: BASE Jumper Strikes Cliff On Opening

We all make mistakes, and Norwegian BASE jumper Hans Lange is no different. Despite dumping too close to the cliff, striking the cliff, breaking his leg and getting stuck in a tree, Hans was a pretty good sport about the whole thing; even poking fun at himself… “What an imbecile!”

Friday Freakout: Skydiver Nearly Impacts Mountain!

Holy &$@%, this is scary! This video should emphasize the importance of a proper spot, even if you’re not the first group exiting… especially over mountains. Audidbles and AADs didn’t help in this situation because they were set for a landing area at a much lower altitude, and drifting in freefall may have also been a contributing factor. If anything, learn from this video to avoid the same mistakes; it could’ve ended much worse. There has been some debate over whether he should’ve used his reserve (textbook emergency procedure) instead of his main (instinct). Thoughts?
