“Fuckin’ hell, that was close. Closest I’ve ever come.” Spoken like a true Aussie ninja, talkin’ all casual as his end cells nearly hit the trees. This was Chris ‘Douggs’ McDougall’s first serious off-heading opening after 15 years and over 2,600 BASE jumps. If this was any closer, it would’ve ended up as a proper Friday Freakout cliff strike, but Douggs handled it like the pro that he is. But what else would ya expect – he’s from ‘Straya!

Friday Freakout: Crushing Canopy Collapse

There are those unexpected moments when you suddenly yell “WTF!” out loud. This is one of those moments. One minute he’s coming in on final for a standard landing, the next minute he’s winded, gasping for air as he lie on the ground in shock from a 30 foot fall (give or take) due to a collapsed canopy. WTF, right?! There can only be one answer: air gremlins!

We’ve all the seen edited footage of Jeb Corliss’ wingsuit crash on Table Mountain. But here’s raw, unedited footage most of you haven’t seen. The Miracle Man Corliss has recovered from this near-death experience, and still has 8 lives left — give or take a few. Just the thought of hitting a mountain in a wingsuit at 120 MPH makes me cringe. Imagine how he felt. Glad you’re still with us Jeb.

Friday Freakout: Skydiver vs. Parachute, Deadly Collision In Freefall

Videos like this don’t usually exist. The reason? Most people would be dead after hitting a canopy in freefall. The upper guy struck the lower guy with both hands on his way by in freefall. I’ve posted some collision close calls in the past, but this is as close as it gets and still living to talk about it. Be safe out there everyone.
