BroBraVent: The American Squirrel Boys

In July 2012, a new jump was opened in the Chamonix Valley by a crew of French BASE jumpers, which you may have recently seen (crazy lines!). Huge thanks to Vincent Descols and friends for having the balls to be the first to jump this exit point. A few weeks later, the ‘merican squirrel boys — Matt Gerdes, Mike Steen, and Gunnar Jeannette — showed up to get the goods while they were still warm, shake and bake y’all!

Well, not literally. But that was the concept behind this kickass commercial for Verizon’s FiOS. Working alongside director Rob Cohen (“The Fast and the Furious”, “Mummy”, “XXX”), these stunning wingsuit lines were shot by Matt Gerdes, Barry Holubeck, and Dave Barlia. Well done guys! She Can Fly: Hot Air Ballon Fly-By

There’s nothing hotter than a hot French woman flying by a hot air balloon in a wingsuit. Except maybe wearing a wingsuit on a hot day. Following the “I Believe I Can Fly” documentary about highlining and BASE jumping, director Sebastien Montaz-Rosset just finished shooting this documentary about professional female BASE jumper Géraldine Fasnacht.

Badass wingsuit proximity flying by Matt Gerdes — author of The Great Book of BASE. This is a crazy line, and may be one of the longest “no pull zones” in BASE jumping I’ve seen yet. Here’s Matt’s BASE jumping version of “Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Too!”:

Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me Trees,
Over the sun and beyond the breeze.
‘Have fun!’
‘Fly far!’
‘Concentrate, don’t sneeze!’
Cried Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me Trees.
