This just might be the dumbest thing Solomon Ould has ever done. He wanted to ground launch off the other side of the mountain and land on the beach. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but without much wind and no (good) landing area in sight, his unplanned journey leads to an epic crash-landing in a forest of tall trees — almost getting impaled by a broken tree stump in the process.

Friday Freakout: Crushing Canopy Collapse

There are those unexpected moments when you suddenly yell “WTF!” out loud. This is one of those moments. One minute he’s coming in on final for a standard landing, the next minute he’s winded, gasping for air as he lie on the ground in shock from a 30 foot fall (give or take) due to a collapsed canopy. WTF, right?! There can only be one answer: air gremlins!

Crazy CRW Dogs Land A Downplane

If you’re looking for a little more excitement before landing, there’s always the option of locking your legs together with another CRW dog and hurling your body towards the earth in a downplane. Heck, why not take it a step further, like the SkyHawks, and just land the downplane. Or not. These guys are part of the highly skilled Canadian Forces Parachute Demonstration Team and make it look easy. You shouldn’t try this at home. It probably won’t end well, eh.

Friday Freakout: Skydiver Hits Truck, Loses Arm (GRAPHIC)

In the words of Tommy Ferguson, “Awww, crap! That sucks.” I’m not sure WTF this truck/trailer was doing parked on the landing area, but target fixation got the best of Tommy on a downwind landing and he managed to hit the one object in an open desert that could — and did — mess him up really badly. You have to watch out for those trailers… they’ll come out of nowhere! All jokes aside, every skydiver makes mistakes. But unfortunately for Tommy, he wasn’t able to escape this mistake without a life-changing injury; his arm was amputated between the shoulder and elbow due to nerve damage.
