Airplane vs. Parachutist
Here’s another kind of formation flying… this time with badass Red Bull Air Force aerobatic pilot, Martin Sonka, flying side-by-side with skydiver/parachutist, Petr Mestak. Martin holds the airplane in ever so slightly angled flight — much like a helicopter — right next to Mestak underneath his cross-braced parachute. Very impressive. Watch Video »
Parachute + Snowmobile = Parasledding
Mind. Blown. No, this has nothing to do with skydiving or BASE jumping, but it’s way too cool not to share. And I’m pretty sure this has never been done before. Introducing parasledding, where paragliding and snowmobiling are combined for one hell of a badass ride down a mountain! Watch Video »
Epic Mr. Bill + Downplane Stunt. True Story.
So, yeah. Doing a Mr. Bill can be a good time. Ask any CRW dog about doing downplanes. But to combine the two? This is just awesome. Period. Have you ever done a Mr. Bill? How about a downplane? I mean really, what could possibly go wrong? Watch Video »
Look Ma, No Hands... F**k The Toggles
Why use toggles for landing when you can look this good without them! Have you ever tried a ghostrider swoop before? Watch Video »
Swooping: Just Add Water
What do you do when your dropzone doesn’t have a swooping pond? Take a handful of skydivers, some high performance canopies, and just add water! Watch Video »

Friday Freakout: Low Pull. Two-Out. Roof Landing. ...
What do you get when a skydiver with only 115 jumps decides to use a camera and impress a girl? A video with too many mistakes to mention. After everything that goes wrong, at least he remembers to collapse his slider, right?! He’s lucky all this cost was a reserve pack job and a new... Watch Video »

The Real Wingman
The Wingman Cam I posted yesterday is pretty cool, but it’s just a toy. Nick Batsch, the distance world record holder, is the real wingman, doing canopy relative work (CRW) with Will Penny on his JPX Petra. Photo by Will Penny. View Photo »
New Skydiving Toy: The Wingman Cam
Who needs Goose or Jester from Top Gun when you have the Wingman Cam, a new flying camera platform (FCP) for GoPro cameras (or any other small format cameras). Although it’s used primarily by paragliders, Jeff Provenzano of the Red Bull Air Force takes his new toy out for a few spins on a parachute... Watch Video »
Friday Freakout: Parachute Opens, Catches On Plane...
As the saying goes, “Plan the jump and jump the plan.” But sometimes a jump just doesn’t go according to plan. Like when your parachute deploys in the door and wraps around the tail of the plane, tossing you around like a puppet on strings. This video, as well as the premature parachute opening on... Friday Freakout: Surprise!... Canopy Collision
Losing your helmet in freefall is never fun (watch closely at the 0:03 mark). Neither is a canopy collision/wrap immediately after dumping your main. This video is from the good ‘ol days — 1989 — back when, apparently, tracking away at break-off was only a suggestion. Oh well, nice video. Watch Video »
The Upskirt View of a Canopy Flock
All you gear sluts out there surely remember the rad skull and crossbones SkyArt canopy I posted back in September. Well here’s another upskirt view of Team Off Track’s sexy SkyArt canopies from Icarus Canopies (by NZ Aerosports). The canopy design competition ends tomorrow (October 19th)… so hurry up and submit your design on Icarus’... View Photo »
Friday Freakout: Skydiver Almost Hits Plane
Skydivers and planes go together like parachutes and gravity… except when planes fly along jump run when it’s time to pull. It’s a good thing parachutes and gravity still work well together, because that’s the only thing stopping this guy from hitting the plane in freefall. Have you ever had a close call like this...
