A tribute to Kurt Ruppert Jr. on his last jump at the Invasion 2012 with Scotty Burns and friends. Kurt has been missing since January 3, 2013 after flying his wingsuit around some mountainous terrain in Washington State. Not only was Kurt adventurous and a talented wingsuit pilot, but he was generous and giving, often doing mission work in Haiti. And you couldn’t wipe that smile off his face. Blue skies and fly free brother!

In the words of William Ross Wallace, “Every man dies, but not every man really lives.” As a tribute to the late Shane Murphy of Adrenaline Geeks — a well known BASE jumper who had a fatal wingsuit accident in Auguest 2012 near Chamonix, France — this video is testament that he truly lived life to the fullest. RIP Shane. As someone who inspired others and had such a huge impact on so many peoples’ lives, you will be missed and never forgotten. Fly free brother.

Memorial Skydive: A Tribute To Ted Strong

In honor of the late Ted Strong (D-16), owner of Strong Parachutes and one of the sport’s giant figures, a memorial skydive was done over Skydive DeLand during the 2012 Skydive Expo in Florida. There are too many stories to write about the legend that is Ted Strong, but he will forever be missed and never forgotten. Blue skies brother. RIP.

I’ve never seen CYPRES tubes and the Skydive Expo look this beautiful. And the music makes me think of Zihuatanejo, like in Shawshank Redemption. The truth is, this is a stunning tribute to a company that literally saves skydivers’ lives, and helps us feel even more peace when we fly in skies like these. Beautiful. Thank you, Airtech/CYPRES.

Midgetbase recently lost one of their brothers: Arne Aarset. He died doing what he loved most — wingsuit proximity flying — not to defy death, but to celebrate life on the edge (and what a view he had). R.I.P. Arne. You now have the best wings any soul can have. Fly free brother.
