Guinness World Record Hot Air Balloon Skydives

On February 10th, 2013, Skydive Dubai Desert Campus set two official Guinness World Records… 1) the most skydivers to jump from a hot air balloon simultaneously (25 skydivers), and 2) the most skydivers to jump from a hot air balloon during the same flight (40 skydivers). The third record was unofficial due to technical reasons: the most female skydivers to exit simultaneously out of a hot air balloon on a single flight. Congrats to everyone involved!

Over 100 people from 21 countries and 6 continents gathered in the sky on September 22, 2012 at Skydive Perris to set a new record for the world’s largest wingsuit skydiving formation. This is the first of what we hope will be a series of videos profiling the team and the incredible effort that went into this achievement. Well, actually it sort of is, but the brand attempted to counter the Red Bull-sponsored Felix Baumgartner space jump from 128,000 feet with this stunt — the world’s shortest freefall — on Conan. Team Coco billed the event as “four inches of pure excitement.” See if you agree.

Official Video: Felix Baumgartner’s World Record Skydive From 128,000ft

Mission accomplished! After flying to an altitude of more than 128,000 feet (39,000 meters) in a helium-filled balloon, Red Bull Stratos pilot Felix Baumgartner completed a record breaking skydive on October 14, 2012 from the edge of space (I know, I know… it’s not actually the edge of space, but their marketing team deserves to have some fun too). During his 4:20 freefall, Felix reached a maximum speed of 833mph (1,342.8 km/h), which set a new world record as the first human in history to break the sound barrier with his body! Mach 1.24… in a spacesuit! The 43-year-old Austrian also broke two other world records (highest freefall, highest manned balloon flight), leaving the record for the longest freefall to project mentor Col. Joe Kittinger.

Red Bull Stratos made history on October 14, 2012 when professional BASE jumper Felix Baumgartner set a new world record as the first human to skydive from 128,000 feet. Or was that inches? Whatever. I can’t confirm this is official footage, but I can confirm this is a 1:350 scale recreation of the historic jump. Well played, model makers. Well played.
