I don`t think he was at 12,000 mate that alti is in metres ie 10 = 3000 feet

He`s lucky he was filming a tandem and opened high,if he tries that at 2500 he`ll be dead!!!

I agree with the statements above. also to an extra point at what height where they jumping as at deployment his alti still says 12 grand and when sorting out things under canopy he is still around 5 grand.

This person really needs to sit down for a while and think more seriously about how to progress in the sport without getting hurt or hurting other people. Maybe the DSO should sit and talk….

Obviously an inexperienced cameraman – seemingly an inexperienced jumper.
1) He can’t fly well enough to stay in proximity to the tandem pair on exit.
2) He drifts close to directly above the tandem pair, qualifying as a danger to them and himself.
3) He is flying with “swoop cords” on his camera suit, whose wings seem to be attached to his arm and waist, but open between his body and the wing.
4) At 0:47 you can see that he has deployed his pilot chute in front of the wing of his camera suit, almost certainly by reaching for the pilot chute through the wing’s opening beside his body. The bag has begun to deploy behind the wing. The pilot chute pulls the deploying bag to the wing which has enough integrity (for a while) to hold it closed.
5) At 1:03 to 1:04 you can see the waist-attachment-point of his suit’s wing fail and de-attach, allowing deployment to resume.
6) This is one lucky duck!

that isn’t a bag lock…it looks to me that the video persons wing wrapped around the deployment bag…i couldn’t really see the wings very well but the strings that he had made it look as if it was homemade…there is a reason to buy good equipment and this is a great example of that
