I can’t think of a single reason not to hate the Tandem Instructor (we’ll call him Asshole) in this video… With this one forced exit Asshole has set the sport back to the stone ages. Poor LaVerne.

She was out of the harness just before exit already (2:23). In crouching position she was pushing down, backward while hi was pulling upward. Harness and side straps not tight enough, overweight, soft body of the passenger, too aggressive approach of the tandem pilot during the exit itself, are the main reasons of that horror. She was the one who payed for that jump, and she suppose to be the one to make finale decision about exiting or not. Instructor – very unprofessional. I believe, that even with all that mistakes made by the instructor, kneeling exit would prevent that incident to happened.

This instructor has piss poor judgement…should have not pulled her hands multiple times from the door side and I am sure he felt her pushing back as he was forcing her out of the plane. Hope he gets sued and faces legal issues for a long time. and loses his lic.

he didn’t, they came down with her ass hitting the ground, while she was between his legs. you see how they were lading when he pulled the cord and the few yards from the ground (from a distance).

I am in shock as well as to the way this instructor took it upon himself to ignore the fact that the old lady changed her mind. He must have been thinking of his own “rush” of jumping out of a plane and thought “I am jumping no matter what!” It is poeple such as him that don’t think. If it was me, and I heard she said it took ten years to finally “Do it”, I would have refused to take her up. It was clear in the start of the video, that she was missing a few marbles and was unsure. 10 years, and now she has the nerve, she was a risk and its the instructor that has to be the one to make the call for BOTH their safty. He Failed, at all points. The Granny, she failed, due to age and mis-judgement. But in the end, it’s the instructor who she jumped with that is the biggest “Weenie” like in the song, that is truely at fault he has the last and final word on a “GO”, and he forced his will on her. And it could have killed this old lady. Just since she is old, I am seeing alot of people get on her case, but keep in mind she was not the one forcing HIM Out of the plane!

The harness was most likely properly adjusted at the outset, but she wriggled and writhed so much in resisting the jump that she worked her way loose — plus, her blouse was very loose and slippery. I guess she won’t be trying *that* again !

Instructor needs ratings irrevocably pulled for life. On top of that, a nice ass beating wouldn’t hurt to reinforce the point that this kind of negligence will not be tolerated in our sport. Time to take up bowling, you moron.

That’s one of the most painful videos I’ve ever watched. And as a skydiver I know that SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED! I hope that tandem master and dropzone gets what they deserve.
