I dislocated my right shoulder in freefall 20 years ago. Used my left hand to get the right toggle and then hold it well enough in my right hand to steer and flair. (but crying like a baby)

A very good question that most of us are wondering. I think the assumption is… he probably didn’t use his brakes (or at least very well) and the landing was likely pretty rough.

This happened to a friend of mine. He ended up landing by using one hand on both his risers to steer and flair.

thats bad situation… i dont actually know how fast/dangerous a landing with the prebrakes is. has anybody ever thought of steering and landing with both handles in one hand? is it possible to land safely by pulling them with one hand down in front of the body? it would be very interesting how he did manage it…

Wow, that’s crazy! Good on your tandem passenger for flying/landing safely. Unfortunately no word from this guy’s landing, but I imagine it was a messy PLF at best.

I broke my arm when I went to launch the drogue on a Tandem once…Had to fire the reserve with my left hand, and then talk my passenger through flying and landing us.
Any word on this guys canopy flight/landing?
