There are no rooms for error in skydiving. 1.) uppers weren’t connected. 2.) lowers weren’t even tightened correctly 3.) instructor didn’t even have his goggles on…really?!?! All 3 of those errors should have been IMMEDIATELY evident to EVERYONE in the plane! That instructor needs to find a different field to go into for work…

Hell, I get pissed off just watching this as a spectator! The reason for pulling the ripcord on this guy wouldn’t have been because he made a mistake or two, though. I assume this guy was fired because someone responsible recognized that if this TI couldn’t manage to pull off a planned exit with a cooperative student from a stable aircraft without jeopardizing the students life, than his chances of correctly responding to a real emergency are very, very poor indeed!

1) The lowers are clearly not tightened up either;
2) The TI doesn’t put his own goggles down;

3) But more importantly, I noticed all of the above within a few seconds – why didn’t anybody else in the plane or even the video guy who is staring at them for 15+ seconds notice anything?!

Lucky, that could have turned out a lot worse!
